Clickie her sprite for a picture, if you'd like~
Name:
Kii
Species:
Rattata
Gender:
Female
Faction:
No Faction
Ability:
Run Away- Can always run from battle. Cannot run during Mean Look or Block or when the opponent is trapping with the Arena Trap, Magnet Pull, or Shadow Tag ability. (Basically grants her a little extra speed and agility to run so when the going gets tough, she can get going- as far away as possible.)
Hold Item:
Although both have no affect, Kii carries both a couple Altaria feathers and a fragment of a Dawn Stone around her tail and neck respectively, held together with pieces of old leather. They are her most precious treasures, so she carries them with her to make sure they aren't stolen. Well, not that anyone would have a reason to take them, as they have little value outside of her attachment to them.
Although not a hold item, it's worth mentioning she does keep an Everstone in her den, and regular exposure to it as she sleeps would help suppress, but not prevent, evolution if she were more experienced.
Attacks:
[-] Tackle
[LV] Quick Attack
[LV] Focus Energy
[LV] Bite
[LV] Assurance
[LV] Super Fang
[LV] Endeavor
[EGG] Screech
[EGG] Fury Swipes

Talents:
Kii has a knack for spotting shiny items laying around, sometimes in places one wouldn't think of looking. She most often finds things such as lost jewelry, machinery pieces, and pebbles, but she does occasionally find a rare item or Evolutionary stone or whatnot. Of course, these are a rare find due to the scarcity of such items. Kii seems to be particularly drawn to shiny and/or blue objects- the shinier or brighter, the easier it is for her to both spot and to decide on weather to keep it or not.
Personality:
A creature of pure instinct, Kii has a rather weak personality compared to others in the town below. Not very familiar with anyone in this area, she is rather un-sympathetic towards those she meets, not to mention lacking any form of verbal etiquette. She also tends to speak her mind weather it helps the conversation or not, but she's a coward at heart and would rather avoid a fight if she could.
If there's two things that will tick Kii off, it's touching her "treasures" or prying into her past, which includes asking why she carries around a few feathers and a stone chip. It's during the former situation where she shows her selfish, possessive side, defending her collection as if they were her children. The latter brings back painful memories and she lashes out in an attempt to hide them. That's another thing; she has difficulty opening up to others, no matter how close she is to them.
Kii is open about her personality and doesn't tend to hide it. But as mentioned before, there's one thing she can't hide no matter how hard she tries; her cowardice. Mice are skittish and Kii is no exception, a reason why she prefers to avoid contact with others. Acting tough is a way for her to get around this, but it almost always backfires and throws her into a situation where she must either stand her ground or flee. Even if she chooses the former, it's inevitable the latter will come around in some way.
Description:
Anatomy-wise, Kii does not look very different from your everyday Rattata. She has a small body, stubby legs, and paws that are semi-useful for grasping, but not near as useful as a human's. Her muzzle is small, almost pointed, tiny nostrils at the tip and one small, thick whisker on each side. She has large, round ears, sharp incisors, and a long tail that stiffly curls up at the end.
The similarities just about end there, however. Instead of the classic purple fur most Rattata have, Kii's pelt is a brown shade and rather scruffy; it doesn't help that it's often dusty and dirty. Cream-colored markings line her belly and paws, but are a slightly lighter shade than normal. Her eyes, on the other hand, are still the traditional rosy-red and triangular in shape.
As mentioned before, she carries some blue feathers and a Dawn Stone fragment with her. Her mother tied the stone, but Kii did the feathers' knot herself, and it is rather simplistic and messy. It holds together just as well, though.
History:
Kii has not lived very long. Her story is short. She and her family once lived in a section of Eterna Forest where the Rattata there had branched off in a sort of sub-specie, bearing earthy, natural colors for better camouflage. Kii, her brother, and her parents were both tight-knit and pack rats (pun completely intended), having a habit of hoarding any sort of shiny object they came across. It was a tradition to carry one's most precious treasures with them, and also that one of those would be a memoir from a parent. So, with a bit of old leather found in a large, run-down house (I think you know where), Kii's mother and father crafted a necklace of fragments of a Dawn stone and Dusk stone respectively and presented them to their children at an early age. This is Kii's only reminder of her family.
It just so happened that a flock of Swablu and Altaria also resided in that same forest during the summer months. Both species acknowledged eachother, but did not interact as one lived on the ground and one in the sky. The summer months also brought about thunderstorms. Lightning, when it hits wood, tends to set stuff on fire.
Kii's home burned to the ground.
She doesn't remember much. What she does is mostly feelings. Red hot air scorching her body wherever she went. Panic seizing all thought as instincts took over. Running wherever there was a break in the claws of flame, never stopping. Somewhere between the escape attempt and the decision that the flock should begin their migration a month early, she passed out.
By the time she came to, that section of the forest had been charred to the point that the trees looked like black needles poking out of the sooty floor. She was at the edge of the grove. Altaria were taking off overhead. Her family was no where to be seen. However, one on the birds traveling above caught sight of the survivor and offered to help her. Although Kii refused in an attempt to retain whatever pride she had left, she really had no choice if she wanted to live; and so the Rattata flew nestled in the downy feathers of her savior, silent tears flying into the sky.
Knowing the tiny mouse would not be able to fly long, the Altaria made a sacrifice and landed in Sootopolis as her flock migrated further to Route 114. She found a corner of the caldera that was quiet and sheltered, proceeding to care for Kii and help her find a new home in this foreign place. Inevitably, the two became close. The Altaria (whom Kii later discovered to be named Bree) was a mother figure to Kii, and Bree treated her like a daughter although she had none of her own. They searched for food together, slept together, shared eachother's love. Kii had not been as close nor open with her mother in the past.
Of course, what was also inevitable was the arrival of spring. The time Bree's flock would begin to return to Eterna. Kii knew the day would come when her mother-figure would leave, but her heart was still broken as well as the Altaria. Before she took off, tears in her eyes, Bree whispered something to Kii before embracing her with her downy wings and lifting into the sunset sky. As she took off, two of her feathers fell from her body and began to float down into the bottom of the caldera. As Kii ran to catch the memoir, Bree's words continued to echo in her head:
"Remember; no matter how far away I am, I will always be with you in your heart."
