You should know these by now. If you don't... fine. You can probably first learn in the Alternate Role Plays, but we prefer if you know about this before joining. In any case, the main rules are the ones found on all kinds of forums that have to do with role play:
[1] God-moding is strictly forbidden. Do not make yourself an all powerful Eevee who can control the gears of the universe. No, we do not care how much you want it or how much you think you deserve it. :} If you try to post an Eevee with abilities that make him/her/it/wtfIdon'tcare impossible to beat... well. Shut the hell up and behave or you're screwed. Oh, and powerplaying. If you control another person's character without their consent, we give them the complete ability to go nuts on you and spam swearing at you until we sort out the problem/make sure you never do something like that again. [2] Oh, and right, this site is rated PG-13, ie. don't come here until you're in high school where you learn all the swearing and stuff and your parents can't blame us for teaching you baaaad words, mmkay? Oh, of course, not that naughty. Keep the sexual themes and swearing and violence to some sort of minimum because we don't want the government whining to us about overdoing all those things and making the world implode because of it. How would that happen? I don't know, but still.
[3] Now that I have your undivided attention, we're returning to the subject of characters. Don't use one if it hasn't been accepted. There's a list of regulations in the Character Closet that you can read and unless your characters have been accepted, you can't use them. At all. We want to keep the forum tidy. So there. [4] Incidentally, some boards have their own rules that you might want to see. Read them. You don't have to have everything memorized, but a general idea of what's right and wrong is usually fine. That and common sense. In fact, common sense is probably more valued here. A shame it almost doesn't exist anymore.
[5] Another one of the usual rules is to use a form of out of character. I am not going to go on and explain what a form of out of character is, because you should know something about it. If you do not, turn away and find a different forum. How much ooc you use depends on the situation. Obviously, in the boards that aren't for role playing, you don't need to show us if you're out of character or not. In the role playing boards, you can chat as much as you want, provided there is something in character that equals the amount of out of character in your post. Never post only out of character in the role playing boards unless you have to tell someone something important, like if they did something wrong, etc. [6] While we're on the topic of length: type good posts. This does not necessarily mean your post has to be long (although it certainly will be regarded with more applause if it is), but you have to type something that other users will be able to reply to with with at least a paragraph. [7] Similarly, do not use chatspeak in character. I could stress this more, but I won't.
[8] If you don't like something about the forum for no good reason, suck it up. There is no need for crybaby members who want something changed because it doesn't suit their ridiculous needs. I [admin account] have gone through too much trouble trying to please the wishes of others and I've given up. A suggestion to a small change is acceptable: perhaps we need more staff, perhaps less, because things are going too slowly or some staff members aren't pulling their own weight. but if you want to complain about something just because you don't enjoy it, shut up. No one is keeping you from leaving. [9] Show your fellow members some respect. Do not flame them for no reason. All fights will be taken to PM or another private place. Arguments on the cbox are completely banned. Staff might help sort the problem, but we expect you to be mature enough to deal with it yourself. Can this be stressed more? Yes, but doing so would compel me to start swearing like a crazy cat lady. And I won't. Not this time. [10] Incidentally, you should remember that the staff have more power than you. Do not show disrespect to them. Don't argue with them unless you think you have a good point. Any act of disrespect to staff members will be acted on. No exceptions.
Alright you're done with the common rules. Time to read the RS rules.
