Twill has a great equilibrium and always lands on his feet. Like a cat. But not. His ears and tail are so thick that they catch air more easily than normal, and this helps him not only land on his feet but also fall slowly. He was raised as a contest Pokemon, and enjoys using his attacks with style and a swag flair.
Personality:
Twill is a laid back Wartortle, just wanting to have fun and look good doing it. He is somewhat narcissistic, but hey- who wouldn't be if they looked this good? He loves the ladies and likes to impress them, but at the same time trying not to look like a fool. He's not a fan of fire types, and looks up to the leadership of the Tsunami Gang. He's actually quite organized, but every once in a while he likes to bend the rules.
Twill is a lot more charming than you would normally think. He's got swag (don't know what swag is? Check urbandictionary), and isn't afraid to show it. He uses strange phrases like "sniped" and "swag cred", which is a shortened form of "swagger credits". Nobody really knows what that means.
Twill is pretty constantly himself. Some people see him as annoying, some don't. It all depends on said person's preference. He is fun to have around if he believes that you are fun as well, otherwise he might seem a little bored (probably because you bore him). To the ladies, Twill turns on the charm and treats them like angels. Who knows if he'll ever settle down, or if he'll just stay a bachelor hitting on all the ladies forever. He can be quite bothersome to other guys when he tries to flirt with their ladies. But he believes it's "all in good fun, bro".
Description:
Twill is of average height for a Wartortle, standing at 3'03". He weighs a little bit more, at 51 lbs. Like all Wartortles, he is a bipedal, indigo-blue turtle-like Pokemon. He has small fangs and large eyes, with a set of claws on each hand. He wears a Mystic Water around his neck, hidden under his undershell.
What sets him apart from the others is his coloring. Everything except his skin is an unusual color. His fluffy tail and ears have a pinkish tint, instead of the blueish tint that is so familiar to everyone. He is an expert at using these to maintain balance in the water and on land. His shell is a pale purple with a rim the same color as his fluff. The underside of his shell is a pale pink, and his eyes are a dark green.
History:
Twill was born in a lab in the deserts of Orre. There they were testing on Pokemon fetuses, trying to chemically alter colorings. The leader of this experiment was known as Jack Coniglia, who had moved the operation from his hometown of Lilycove to Orre to block out any distractions. Later, this same scientist would find a way to bottle up the almost harmless chemicals and sell them as potions, which would gradually alter the coloring of any living Pokemon with no pain. Of course, it was not always a painless process, and at the beginning many of the test subjects died due to the harsh chemicals that were originally used.
It was discovered that the Pokemon known as "starters"- Squirtles, Charmanders, Bulbasaurs, etc- had stronger pigmentation cells than most other regular Pokemon that could withstand more change without killing the Pokemon. Twill was part of the second batch of these starters, along with a Charmander named Rachael and a Treecko named Truant. Twill and Truant became close friends, but Rachael always made fun of the Treecko. One day, Twill put out her fire with a water gun attack in anger, causing her to pass out and almost die.
The scientists were going to kill the "crazy" Squirtle, but Jack had other plans for him. He took Twill with him the next time he went back to Lilycove to visit his family. He gave him to his young daughter Bunny, who had a passion for the "prettily colored" Pokemon her father had just learned to create. She raised Twill as a contest Pokemon, able to use his attacks beautifully and with style. He had a flair for looking cool, and the team would often win beginner contests with the theme of "coolness".
However, not all good things last forever. As a Wartortle, Twill became very sick and could not stay in Lilycove. When he evolved, his skin would begin to grow very hot and feel like it was burning. Jack discovered that the chemicals used to create his unique coloration had an ill-effect after being mutated to fit Twill's new form after evolving, creating the burning feeling when exposed to the composition of the ocean water. Because, as a Wartortle, Twill still needed to be near water, he was sent to Sootopolis. The water in this city was collected rainwater, and much more fresh than in Lilycove. When he arrived, he found home with the Tsunami Gang, who shared his hatred of the childish Fire types, just like Rachael who had made fun of his friend.
