Description
Elisa could never be mistaken for an ordinary Raichu, even if she isn’t that different from one. While she has the same overall build and physical capabilities, key differences set her aside. Elisa is smaller, lighter, and more agile than the average Raichu, standing at exactly 2’6”. While an inch doesn’t seem like much, when you’re below three feet, every inch counts. Otherwise, she seems to look like a normal Raichu, with golden-orange fur, a white belly, and a pair of stripes on her lower back the same color as her paws, although the undersides are tan with pale orange pads. She has gold cheeks and the distinctive, butterfly-shaped ears of a Raichu, although the top points of her ears also curve up, while the bottom points remain in their odd swirl, making her ears look longer than they are. Her tail, like most Raichus, is longer than she is, with the bright lightning-bolt-shaped portion crowning her long, wiry black tail. Her tail is somewhat of an oddity, shaped somewhere in between the pointed tail of a male and the blunt one females have.
The smaller details that most overlook are rather simple, though odd. Elisa moves with a total grace and power most aren’t aware Raichus could possess, considering how they’re pretty much chubby rodents with clown cheeks. Elisa’s eyes are less round than a normal Raichu’s, more almond-shaped. Oddly enough, although her irises are black, she has gold pupils slit like a cat’s, despite the fact that it should make it physically impossible for her to see. This does not stop Elisa, who claims it gives her good night vision. This still creeps people out because it looks like her eyes are glowing/demonic/whatever. As a result of this, Elisa will sometimes wear sunglasses to cover it after she gets sick of people staring at her. Elisa has surprisingly sharp teeth and is more than happy to show them off, in more ways than one. Elisa also looks kind of like a guy, bifauxnen style. She is often confused for one and does not do anything to discourage it. Half the time she doesn’t even bother to correct it, though most figure out he’s a she when they hear her name. Elisa has a pleasant contralto voice, which does not help genderconfusion any, since most people think it could belong to a girl or a guy. Elisa also has a mutation which causes her front paws to be more developed and longer, having four fingers, albeit skeletal ones that weird people out (like there’s anything about her that doesn’t?). These paws do not hinder her from running on all fours, but they do allow her to actually play her keyboard (albeit in a different style from humans, since they have thumbs along with four fingers). On a related note, her hind paws only have three toes like a normal Raichu.
There is a reason, however, most people do not notice these oddities at first glance (well, usually). Simply put, Elisa looks odd and would look odd even if she was genetically identical to an ordinary Raichu. To begin with, she has her ears pierced somehow. She wears a lot of metal, usually silver, rings in them. She has matching rings around on her tail and ankles, though she will take them off in preparation for a kill, if stealth is needed. She will not hesitate to abandon them if she feels they’re slowing her down – they’re just jewelry, after all. Elisa is never seen without oversized black-and-purple headphones, and is usually listening to punk/alt. rock or whatever, unless in battle. She wears her Scope Lens over her left eye. It’s attached to her headphones, which she disassembled and reassembled herself. Elisa always carries an assortment of knives and other throwing weapons hidden in her black aviator’s jacket, which she only wears for that purpose (also, to carry her music player, though she denies it). Because of this odd appearance, Elisa has often been called Goth, which she doesn’t really care about.
Gift
Never misses with a thrown/ranged weapon (does not extend to her own attacks for some weird reason). It’s kind of creepy, since in the time between when she throws her weapon and it reaches her target, the weapon seems to gain a mind of its own and home in on the target, swerving somehow to avoid various obstacles and attempts to destroy it. This can go on for a while, until it finally reaches the target. It does not matter if Elisa has been incapacitated somehow in that time.
Talent(s)
Has talent with technology. Also is a pretty good singer and keyboardist. Oh, also, she’s good at combat in general, having had years’ worth of training as both a bodyguard and assassin. Knows how to identify and exploit the weak point in others’ guards. Surprisingly, this also extends into verbal abuse, though she rarely knows when to stop. Also has an incredible memory, bordering on eidetic. Elisa is some kind of Asian/American mix except not but you know. She has a thorough grasp of Cantonese, and is decent at Mandarin. Her fluency with other East Asian languages… not so much, especially at speaking, though she can read the often Chinese-derived characters (ex. Japanese kanji) well. Speaking of which, Elisa favors the traditional characters, feeling simplified is boring.
Personality
At first glance, Elisa is nothing more than one of the many irritating “teenagers” that the more conservative will insist plague their lovely city. Certainly, she often acts like an antisocial airhead, which is a front to get people to underestimate her. Still, the Raichu actually is rather antisocial though. Most people will have difficulty getting her to do more than contribute blunt/monosyllabic responses and maybe glares. She almost continuously listens to her music for the sole purpose of drowning others out. Definitely not a people person, and may or may not hate the world.
When socializing, either against her will or otherwise, Elisa practically radiates an aura of cold confidence/assurance/arrogance when being “herself”. This often makes others wish they hadn’t bothered. Well, that, or they’d like to bitchslap her into next week. The problem is, Elisa’s arrogance isn’t undeserved, though most people never realize that. Every word and gesture she makes is calculated, usually to drive people away that she doesn’t like (read: almost everyone). Unsurprisingly, Elisa is very grumpy. To her fellow members of Hell’s Army, Elisa is pretty much the same, except she tones down the cutting power of her words and puts up with them. This does not stop her from being a stick in the mud, which she is. Elisa is often annoyed by the distinctly unprofessional attitudes of Hell’s Army, though she doesn’t mind it too much. Really.
Elisa does have a few quirks that only a select few know about. For one, she is addicted to her caffeine. Elisa frequently visits the Emerald Park, one of the café’s most notable customers and patrons, considering she comes by nearly every day and always leaves some money (either stolen or earned by busking). Elisa has a strict sense of honor, but she never lets that get in the way of her… job. Her pride as a professional assassin overrules it, every time. Because of her job, Elisa prefers to be nocturnal but will also move in the day if she feels it necessary. She is rather callous, immature, and very self-centered, though she’s fair at hiding it. Empathy is a foreign concept, though she can be very caring and passionate. Not likely, but still. Elisa thinks gender and age are irrelevant, including her own. She stubbornly maintains she is not attracted to anyone or anything, ever. Elisa thinks love is pointless, also annoying (her own parents were very much so in love, and obvious about it).
History
born and raised in a wealthy household in Sinnohtrained from an early age to fight and kill people, and to use her life to defend her employer if necessary, with the purpose of serving as a bodyguard to the family
learned how to play piano in spare time
brought up believing it was completely normal, treated like any other kid when not learning how to fight
had what she sarcastically describes as a “rebellious teen wangst period”, left home
found employment as an assassin, which she was honestly good at due to knowing many of the common bodyguard techniques and… reapplying them
eventually decided she didn’t like that either (not enough freedom to do what she wanted) and disappeared
found her way to Sootopolis and joined Hell’s Army for the, well, hell of it.
